Job Description

They are currently seeking a reliable and personable Host/Hostess to join their front-of-house team. This position plays a crucial role in shaping the customer's first impression of the restaurant by greeting guests with a friendly demeanor, managing reservations and waitlists, and seating patrons efficiently in line with the restaurant's seating plan. The Host/Hostess acts as the initial point of contact for guests and must handle various administrative and customer service duties effectively. This full-time or part-time role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including taking phone orders, maintaining cleanliness around the host station, and assisting waitstaff as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an outgoing personality, and previous experience with electronic reservation systems. The role is essential to maintaining the flow of the dining room and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all guests, contributing to the restaurant’s overall success and positive reputation.

Job Duties

  • Answer the phone and input customers orders into the computer
  • Add customers and maintain the waitlist
  • Greet all customers as they enter the restaurant
  • Seat customers according to the established plan that ensures all waitstaff gets filled tables
  • Keep front desk and waiting area clean
  • Ensure takeout menus, retail items, and gift cards remain stocked
  • Refill paper products in bathrooms, as needed
  • Help waitstaff by getting water for customers, as needed
