Recognized as one of the Washington Post's 'Most Diverse Places to Work' and one of Full Service Restaurant Magazine's '20 Full Service Restaurants to Watch', the company has earned notable accolades including the 2020 TDn2K Best Practices Award in the Family Dining Category. Silver Diner is distinguished by its award-winning Fresh & Local Menu crafted by Chef Ype Von Hengst, featuring flexitarian and healthy options that bridge the gap between traditional tablecloth dining and fast food. The company sources high-quality ingredients from direct partnerships with over 15 local farms that emphasize organic and sustainable methods, reflecting its dedication to responsible dining and community support.
Silver Diner is more than just a restaurant; it embodies a culture that puts people first. The company's core mission is to be the best it can be by focusing on four pillars: people, product, guests, and growth. People are its most precious resource, and success is built on the professional and personal achievements of its team members. Silver Diner prides itself on delivering flawless product execution and exceptional guest service, aiming never to say no to any guest's request. Growth is pursued through excellence, ensuring that expansion does not come at the cost of their high standards. This positive, empowering environment fosters internal promotion—with more than 60% of managers and all General Managers and Area Directors promoted from within—offering employees a genuine career path and investment in their future.
The role of Host at Silver Diner is ideal for warm, energetic individuals passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences. The position offers an hourly wage plus participation in tip pools and is available on a full or part-time basis with a requirement for weekend and holiday availability. Being part of one of the busiest restaurants in America and a trendsetting concept, this role offers exposure to high standards in casual dining along with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
At Silver Diner, the benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and an Employee Assistance Program, alongside perks such as a Referral Bonus Program, meal discounts, gym membership discounts, and work shoe discounts.
