Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes customers immediately upon arrival and verifies party size
- determines special needs such as high chairs or special menus
- collects payment from customers in accordance with cash handling procedures
- inquires about food and service satisfaction and handles complaints or suggestions appropriately
- seats customers at appropriate tables or booths and introduces daily specials
- keeps hostess area stocked and clean including to-go items and bakery products
- handles incoming telephone calls and takes to-go orders
- maintains a proper supply of clean menus
- periodically suggests initial beverages and provides beverage orders and refills
- assists service personnel in cleaning and setting tables
- resolves complaints promptly and notifies manager of any issues
- assists other service personnel as needed
