Founded with a commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, HMSHost partners with leading travel destinations to create convenient, engaging, and high-quality dining experiences. The company is part of Dufry, a global travel retailer, and prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment that promotes career growth, diversity, and inclusion. HMSHost offers a variety of employment opportunities at airports and other key locations, catering to dynamic teams passionate about hospitality and customer service.
This position is located at the San Antonio International Airport, where HMSHost maintains a vibrant food and beverage presence. The role of the Host/Hostess at HMSHost is crucial in shaping a guest's first impression and ensuring their dining experience runs smoothly. With a starting wage of $15.00 per hour, this non-exempt position reports to the Store Manager and involves a mix of guest interaction, seating coordination, and support duties within the restaurant environment.
As a Host/Hostess, you will serve as the welcoming face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly and directing them to their tables while managing reservations and seating charts. The role requires maintaining a clean and inviting dining area, assisting with beverage refills, and supporting the team by performing cash handling and order processing when necessary. Attention to detail and strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise between front-of-house guests and kitchen staff to deliver seamless service.
This role not only focuses on guest interaction but also involves supporting operational tasks such as setting up dining areas, replenishing silverware, and ensuring food and beverages are delivered according to HMSHost standards. Flexibility is key, as you may be asked to assist with cashier duties, busser tasks, or light food preparation to enhance the overall guest experience and efficiency of service.
HMSHost values employees who can demonstrate excellent organizational skills, customer service experience, and a friendly, enthusiastic demeanor. The ideal candidate is able to interpret seating charts accurately and maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere throughout their shift. Physical stamina is necessary to meet the demands of standing, bending, and moving throughout the workday.
Joining HMSHost means becoming part of a global team that not only emphasizes excellent service but also provides comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities. You will have access to health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, holiday pay, and retirement plans with company match. Additional perks include tuition reimbursement, training programs, employee assistance, and a referral bonus program. HMSHost fosters inclusive hiring practices, actively supporting applicants from diverse backgrounds, including minorities, women, disabled persons, and veterans.
HMSHost is committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace and complies with all equal opportunity employment laws, ensuring a respectful and equitable environment for all employees. Working as a Host/Hostess at San Antonio International Airport presents a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about hospitality, guest service, and career development within a well-established company dedicated to making every traveler’s experience pleasant and memorable.
