We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Host/Hostess to join our Pepper Posse family. The Host/Hostess role is a key position within the restaurant, acting as the first point of contact for guests as they arrive. In this role, you will warmly greet guests, manage seating arrangements, and handle the waitlist with professionalism and grace. Your ability to create a positive first impression will set the tone for the entire dining experience. You will coordinate closely with servers and bussers to ensure efficient table turnover and balance seating assignments to optimize guest flow. Accurate communication of wait times and attentive management of guest expectations are essential responsibilities, as is addressing any guest inquiries or concerns with empathy. This role requires excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean and welcoming host station and to support the seamless operation of the dining room. The Host/Hostess will also answer phone calls, take and fulfill to-go and curbside orders, and perform various side duties as assigned. This is a dynamic role perfect for energetic individuals who thrive in fast-paced hospitality environments and are passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in a host or customer service role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Friendly and approachable demeanor

- Basic knowledge of the restaurant menu and specials is a plus
Job Duties
- Warmly welcome guests as they arrive creating a positive first impression
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
- Answer incoming phone calls take and fill to-go and curbside orders clean organize and stock menus and perform other assigned side work
- Track table status and manage the seating chart to ensure efficient and balanced table assignments Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table turnover and minimize wait times
- Take names and phone numbers for the waiting list and quote accurate wait times to guests when tables are not immediately available
- Clearly communicate wait times and manage guest expectations Provide updates as needed and ensure guests are informed of any changes
- Address guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally Provide information about the menu and specials as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized host station Ensure that the waiting area and entrance are tidy and welcoming
- Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations Relay any special requests or issues to the appropriate team members
- Handle guest complaints or issues with empathy and efficiency escalating to management if necessary
