Job Requirements

16 plus years old
Reliable transportation required
Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor, and wipe down booth seats in the bar area of the restaurant
Ability to transport plates, glasses, and baskets to and from the service bar and kitchen more than 30 times per shift
Mobility required during the entire shift
Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for up to four hours in a row
Must have a good sense of balance, be able to reach, bend, stoop, and kneel
Frequently lift and bus pans and trays weighing up to 25 pounds
Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other staff
Transports and carries objects such as high chairs up to 15 pounds up to 15 times per shift

Job Qualifications

Friendly and engaging demeanor
Prior work experience preferred
Reading, writing, and verbal communication skills required
Bi-lingual experience a plus
Ability to build relationships
Ability to be a team player
Ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
Ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times

Job Duties

Greets and seats all guests in a friendly manner
Assists in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
Ensures seating service is rotated among server area assignments whenever possible
Opens doors for arriving and departing guests
Remains visible in the front of house and facing the main entrance
Occasionally delivers food and drinks to guests when extra assistance is needed
Interacts verbally with all guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
Completes assigned opening and closing side work as required
Participates in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery method
Observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates guests' needs
Maintains a clean and organized work area
Explains and demonstrates usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
Drives sales with suggestive selling techniques
Accommodates any special needs of guests such as booster chairs and high chairs
Manages the waitlist when the restaurant is busy
May occasionally serve guests in Carside To-Go or Server roles
Fills out feature sheets accurately
Assists in general Front of House maintenance functions including maintaining restrooms, light cleaning such as dusting, washing windows, sani-bucket rotation, setting up the expo line, emptying trash, rolling silverware, and maintaining restaurant curb appeal
