We are currently seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Restaurant Host to join our team. This part-time or full-time position is a vital role within our hotel’s restaurant operations, serving as the first point of contact for our guests as they enter the establishment. The Restaurant Host is responsible for maintaining a consistent and courteous presence at the entrance, greeting guests warmly with a smile and an appropriate greeting that aligns with Azul Hospitality's high standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will escort guests to their tables, present menus, and coordinate with wait staff and other restaurant personnel to ensure seamless guest service. Beyond greeting and seating guests, the Restaurant Host performs various duties to enhance the overall dining experience, such as refilling beverages, setting tables, cleaning serving areas, and assisting with food preparation and order expediting when necessary. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain cleanliness and stock table condiments regularly to support our commitment to hygiene and guest satisfaction.
The Restaurant Host role also involves adhering closely to hotel safety and security protocols and reporting any safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly. Physical demands of the job include standing for extended periods, maneuvering in tight spaces, lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment, and working in environments with varying temperatures, ranging from kitchen heat to freezer cold. Adaptability, physical stamina, and attention to workplace safety are essential attributes.
This position requires a minimum of high school education or equivalent, with prior food service and customer service experience preferred. Certification in Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handling is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates must exhibit strong organizational skills, possess basic computer knowledge including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS systems, and be capable of independently resolving issues with tact and diplomacy. Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent education required
- Food service experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification preferred
- Must be able to stand for up to four hours
- Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
- Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
- Regular attendance and punctuality required
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Food service experience preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers
- Strong issue resolution and analytical skills
- Self-driven and able to work independently
Job Duties
- Great and welcome all hotel guests and customers
- Escorts guests to their tables and presents the menu to them
- Communicates with the wait staff and other restaurant personnel to ensure the guests' experience meets company standards
- Perform a variety of duties including refilling beverages, setting tables, and cleaning eating/serving areas
- Assist during downtime with rolling silverware, expediting food orders, preparing food for To-go areas, and properly cleaning and filling table condiments
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- Assist with any guest inquiry
