We are currently seeking a part-time Seasonal Host/Food Runner to join The Rooftop and Terra Kitchen teams. This role is crucial in maintaining the smooth and efficient flow of service during our busy seasons. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering dishes promptly from the kitchen to guests’ tables, acting as a liaison between kitchen and front-of-house staff, and providing excellent customer service throughout the dining experience. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The Host/Food Runner will strive to provide exceptional service to both internal team members and external guests at all times. Key responsibilities include anticipating guests’ needs, maintaining positive guest relations, resolving complaints, and adhering to hotel policies related to safety and emergency situations. The candidate will also work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders, perform quality checks on dishes, assist servers with additional items, and help keep work areas clean and orderly. Job Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to follow instructions accurately both verbally and written
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy
- Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
- Professional in appearance and demeanor
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members

Job Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to obtain State Alcohol Serving Certificate
- Ability to obtain State Food Handlers Certificate
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to interact effectively with guests, vendors, and team members
- Problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of food and beverage service operations preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests however busy and whatever time of day
- Maintain positive guest relations at all times
- Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction
- Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items
- Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations
- Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts
- Encourage social media/5-star compliments or reviews on OTA's
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation and delivery of food orders
- Carry food orders to the correct tables promptly minimizing delays and ensuring hot food is served
- Maintain clear communication with kitchen and serving staff to coordinate timing of food delivery
- Conduct a visual check of each dish to ensure it meets quality standards and matches the customer's order
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner answering questions and addressing any concerns
- Support servers by delivering additional items such as condiments, utensils, or refills
- Keep work areas including serving stations and dining areas clean and well-maintained
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to maintain a cohesive and efficient operation
- Report all accidents and breakages to the Manager in charge
- Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
