Job Description

This opportunity is with a dynamic restaurant known for its commitment to excellent customer service and high-quality dining experiences. The establishment operates in a fast-paced environment where teamwork is essential and every team member plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction. The restaurant prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere, efficient service, and carefully prepared menus that appeal to a broad range of customers. As a Host/Food Runner, you will be an essential part of the front-of-house operations, helping to create a seamless and engaging dining environment for guests.

The role of the Host/Food Runner combines hospitality skills with operational support that enhances both customer and team experiences. This position includes greeting guests warmly as they enter, managing seating arrangements, and effectively communicating table availability to the coordinator host or hostess. You will track open and available tables and booths, judge appropriate wait times during busy periods, and ensure guests are seated promptly and efficiently. Your role involves close collaboration with the kitchen team, keeping them informed of open menus and large parties, facilitating smooth service flow. Teamwork is emphasized, as you will support your co-workers through bussing tables, setting up and maintaining dining spaces, and running food orders from the kitchen to guests.

Memorization and knowledge are key components of this job; you will need to remember table numbers, pivot points, station assignments, the dining room layout, and the maximum occupancy of tables and booths. It's important to maintain composure and congeniality even during busy shifts. Additionally, you must be familiar with the menu and plate presentations to assist effectively and confidently when interacting with guests or supporting servers.

The role requires physical agility, as you should be able to move quickly throughout the restaurant, carry multiple dishes simultaneously, deliver orders accurately, and use the intercom system pleasantly to call guests. Clean and proper uniform adherence is mandatory throughout your shifts to maintain the restaurant's professional image. Operational responsibilities include the use of the Point of Sale computer system for ringing in orders, cash handling, and counting change for guests. Basic computer skills will also be needed for managing your schedule using the restaurant’s online system.

Candidates must obtain a TABC (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) certification as part of the position requirements. The restaurant offers an engaging work environment where you can develop customer service skills, learn teamwork, and gain exposure to food and beverage operations in a vibrant setting. If you are enthusiastic, able to handle a fast-paced work environment, and take pride in providing excellent hospitality, this role is an excellent fit for you.
