The role of Host at Roscoe's Famous Deli is an entry-level, part-time position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on delivering excellent customer service. The host is the first and last impression for guests, playing a critical role in ensuring that every visitor feels valued and well-attended. This position requires individuals who are passionate about service and can handle multiple responsibilities such as greeting guests promptly with a smile, managing seating assignments efficiently, and answering the house phone professionally. Utilizing the deli's Table Management system, hosts quote accurate seating times, manage reservations, seat guests, and respond to general business questions.

In addition to guest-facing duties, hosts also monitor the dining area to maintain smooth seating and dining flow. Occasionally, they may assist with placing, packaging, and closing out to-go orders, whether online or via telephone. Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in the waiting area and menu presentation is also essential to uphold the restaurant's welcoming ambiance. Hosts perform routine opening, running, and closing duties as necessary and support coworkers with side work such as wiping down tables, restocking supplies, and rolling silverware.

Training and certification requirements include obtaining a San Bernardino County Food Handlers Card, Responsible Beverage Service Training and Certificate issued by California Alcohol Beverage Control, a state-issued driver's license or identification card, a social security card, and completion of state sexual harassment training and certification.
