Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in customer service or hospitality is beneficial
Ability to stand for extended periods
Effective verbal communication skills
Familiarity with reservation systems like Opentable
Basic knowledge of cash handling procedures
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Must be physically able to work in various weather conditions

Job Qualifications

Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner
Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit, and cash handling policies and procedures
Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette
Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
Must be able to withstand working in heat, rain, sun, and cold

Job Duties

Welcome guests to the venue
Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
Answer telephone, address customers queries, process and track reservations in Opentable according to established procedures
Escort guests to assigned dining tables
Seat guests based on guest preferences and balancing of customer flow in service stations
Upon seating, offer guests a menu and inform them of their server's name
Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness
Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options
Maintain a clean reception area
Cater to guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)
Control the volume of the restaurant and assure guests waiting are practicing social distance
Inspect and maintain daily menus to ensure quality, condition, and appearance while developing a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials
Process and handle all take-out/delivery food orders in accordance with established procedures
Other duties may be assigned by the department head
