Job Requirements

High school diploma is a plus but not required
ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner
knowledge of surrounding areas and local events
ability to understand and adhere to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures
knowledge of proper telephone etiquette
must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
must be able to withstand working in heat, rain, sun, and cold
attention to cleanliness and safety
patience and customer-oriented approach
excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
responsible and trustworthy
ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

Welcome guests to the venue
provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists
answer telephone and address customer queries
process and track reservations in Opentable
escort guests to assigned dining tables
seat guests based on preferences and balancing customer flow
offer menus and inform guests of server names upon seating
inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness
coordinate with wait staff about seating options
maintain a clean reception area
cater to guests requiring extra attention such as children or elderly
control restaurant volume and ensure social distancing among waiting guests
inspect and maintain daily menus for quality and appearance
process and handle take-out and delivery orders
perform other duties as assigned by the department head
