The role of Host/Hostess within HRI Hospitality is integral to the guest experience, situated in the Food & Beverage department. This position emphasizes the importance of being the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their visit by providing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The Host/Hostess is responsible for managing reservations, waitlists, and seating arrangements to ensure smooth flow and efficiency in service delivery. Key responsibilities include greeting and escorting guests, managing phone inquiries, assisting with menu and order requests, and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the host station and entrance area. Candidates should be comfortable multitasking and managing a fast-paced environment while exhibiting excellent communication and organizational skills. This role reports to the Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and Food & Beverage Manager.

HRI Hospitality seeks individuals who bring professionalism, a pleasant demeanor, and a strong work ethic to the position. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in restaurant or hospitality settings and strong customer service skills. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and knowledge of reservation and POS systems is advantageous. Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and create a positive first impression
  • manage reservations, waitlists, and seating charts to maximize service flow
  • escort guests to tables and communicate server sections effectively
  • answer phones, take messages, and provide basic restaurant information
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entrance area
  • assist with menus, to-go orders, and guest requests as needed
  • monitor dining room activity and communicate with servers and management
  • follow company policies, safety standards, and service procedures
