The role of a Host/Hostess at Moxies is crucial in shaping guests' first impressions and ensuring the overall hospitality experience runs smoothly. This position is primarily responsible for warmly welcoming all guests and assisting them in finding suitable seating to enhance their dining experience. As the face of the restaurant, the host plays a vital role in providing outstanding customer service, maintaining cooperation and positive attitudes towards guests and team members alike. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to anticipate guest flow and table turns to manage the seating chart effectively. Hosts also help maintain the cleanliness and visual appeal of the restaurant’s entryway and washrooms, making the space inviting and comfortable. Additionally, they answer phones to manage reservations and provide general customer service, ensuring clear and professional communication at all times. The host must be attentive to guests' needs, resilient in handling stressful situations with a calm and positive demeanor, and able to collaborate with management to address compliments or concerns appropriately. This is an indispensable front-of-house role that demands high attention to detail and a genuine enthusiasm for hospitality, offering the chance to be part of a growing and dynamic team in a celebrated restaurant environment.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
