Job Qualifications

  • strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant

  • ability to prioritize, good organizational skills
  • must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions and have strong menu knowledge
  • computer skills (POS system)

Job Duties

  • Greet guest in a friendly, warm, and welcoming manner and escort guests to tables
  • monitors guests' needs and the flow of the restaurant and seats guests accordingly
  • deliver the appropriate number of menus, kid packs if needed when seating guests
  • perform restroom checks, answer phone, keep lobby, bakery and retail areas clean of debris, and keep the general work area stocked and cleaned
  • practice safe food and beverage handling
  • communicate and interact with guests, handle crowds, and put guests at ease while they wait for their table or carryout order
  • show guests you care and ask them about their dining experience
  • effectively handle guest complaints and involve manager at appropriate time
  • handle cash and credit transactions
  • accurately account for all receivables including cash, credit cards, and gift cards
  • assist in marketing, promotional services and situational selling, such as communicating new promotions, products, or marketing information to guests
  • clear, sanitize, and set tables as needed
  • manage guests wait times by working with managers to quote accurate wait times
  • may be asked to assist in other job categories as well
  • all other duties as assigned
