The Host Cashier role at Bob Evans is integral to ensuring guests receive exceptional service from the moment they enter. This position offers up to $15.00 per hour, depending on prior restaurant concept experience, and is designed for individuals who thrive on providing a friendly and efficient front-of-house experience. As a Host Cashier, you will be the face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly, escorting them to tables, and managing the overall flow of the lobby and seating area. Responsibilities include monitoring guest needs, managing wait times, ensuring cleanliness and stock of the lobby and retail areas, handling cash and credit transactions, and assisting in marketing efforts to promote current specials and new products. This role demands excellent communication skills, attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

In addition to direct guest interaction and service, the Host Cashier is responsible for maintaining safety and sanitation standards in accordance with CDC, local, and state guidelines, creating a secure environment for both employees and guests. The role is physically demanding, requiring long periods of standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements

  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Excellent guest service skills and experience
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues as they arise
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize, good organizational skills
  • Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions and have strong menu knowledge
  • Computer skills (POS system)

Job Duties

  • Greet guest in a friendly, warm, and welcoming manner and escort guests to tables
  • Monitors guests' needs and the flow of the restaurant and seats guests accordingly
  • Delivers the appropriate number of menus, kid packs if needed when seating guests
  • Performs restroom checks, answers phone, keeps lobby, bakery and retail areas clean of debris, and keeping the general work area stocked and cleaned
  • Practices safe food and beverage handling
  • Communicates and interacts with guests, can handle crowds, and put guests at ease while they wait for their table or carryout order
  • Shows guests you care and ask them about their dining experience
