Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Light lifting (up to ~25 lbs) as needed for menus, stanchions, etc
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Qualifications
- Prior hosting or customer service experience preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to remain calm and friendly in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working on feet for extended periods
- Ability to multitask, manage crowds, and maintain professionalism
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Duties
- Warmly greet and engage guests as they enter the restaurant
- Manage waitlists and reservations using the restaurant’s seating software
- Efficiently coordinate seating to balance guest satisfaction and server sections
- Answer phone calls regarding reservations, hours, events, and general inquiries
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entry area, and menus
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and support staff to ensure smooth flow
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and keep guests updated during peak hours
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Uphold ViewHouse hospitality standards and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
