It is here that Sunriver Resort is looking to add a dedicated Host/Hostess to their team. This role is pivotal to the guest experience, serving as the first point of contact for visitors entering the restaurant. The Host/Hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience by creating a welcoming atmosphere with a bright smile and an approachable, professional demeanor. They play a key role in managing guest inquiries, coordinating reservations, and responding to service demands to ensure that every guest feels valued and attended to.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work well with others and function well in high customer impact situations
  • Able to communicate well with staff and customers
  • Able to work flexible hours and days
  • Current food handler permit required
  • Knowledge of food and beverage products including menu items and prices for all meal periods
  • Knowledge of hours of operations
  • Knowledge of property-wide facilities and services
  • Possess excellent telephone and organizational skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to personally lift up to 20 lbs on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to occasionally lift over 40 lbs with assistance
  • Must be able to bend, squat crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces and reach on a continuous basis

Job Duties

  • Clock in and check in with the manager-on-duty
  • Greet and welcome every guest as they enter the lodge restaurants
  • Acknowledge and thank all guests as they depart
  • Confirm the number of people in each party and inquire if there are any special needs or requests
  • Record necessary information on waiting lists when the restaurant is full
  • Use proper paging procedures when paging anyone
  • Escort every guest to the table, hand out menus, and ensure table(s) are properly set up
  • Ensure even seating of the restaurant by seating the tables in proper rotation
  • Maximize the seating of the restaurant by putting two’s on two-top, etc
  • Use proper telephone procedures
  • Assist servers with refilling beverages and/or clearing tables as directed by the manager-on-duty
  • Complete assigned side work such as trading out menus at shift change and stocking supplies
  • Comply with all Sunriver policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Train and welcome new hosts/hostesses
  • Lead and direct the flow of service and reservations by coaching host team members
  • Communicate guest information and feedback with the manager-on-duty
  • Other duties as assigned
