With a commitment to excellence in both cuisine and service, Eddie Merlot's prides itself on delivering superior hospitality to every guest. The restaurant has built a reputation for combining a warm, inviting ambiance with high-end culinary offerings, making it a preferred destination for both casual diners and special occasions alike.
As the first team member a guest encounters, the Host plays a critical role in shaping the overall dining experience at Eddie Merlot's. The Host is tasked with welcoming guests warmly and managing the front-of-house operations to ensure a seamless flow from arrival to seating. This position is essential in setting the tone of the guest’s visit and requires a blend of professionalism, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor. The Host greets guests in person or by phone to schedule reservations, assists guests upon arrival, and coordinates seating arrangements to optimize service efficiency.
The role at Eddie Merlot's demands strong organizational skills to manage reservation lists, anticipate guest flow during peak times, and collaborate closely with servers, valet staff, and management. This coordination ensures guests are promptly seated and that the dining room operates smoothly. Attention to detail is vital, as the Host is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly station, managing the waiting list with accurate wait time quotes, and supporting other team members as needed.
Additionally, Hosts at Eddie Merlot's undergo required training and must uphold the restaurant’s standards for appearance, punctuality, and performance. Beyond the logistical responsibilities, the Host also creates a memorable first impression by extending personalized hospitality, assisting guests with coat checks, escorting them to their tables, and inviting them to return. They also play a role in promoting special membership programs, handling special events, and supporting banquet functions.
This full-time position, often scheduled during evenings and weekends to align with the restaurant's peak hours, offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, guest-focused environment. The salary is competitive within the industry and commensurate with experience, reflecting the importance of the Host role in delivering exceptional service at Eddie Merlot's. Candidates joining the team will be part of a culture that values teamwork, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement, making it an excellent opportunity for those passionate about hospitality and fine dining.
