Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping
  • Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems
  • Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Visual ability including distance, close, color, depth and peripheral vision with ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Responsible Beverage Service Certifications required for all California based positions (can be completed during training and up to 60 days after start)

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous restaurant or customer service experience beneficial but not required
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles
  • Responsible Beverage Service Certification for California employees (can be completed with training)
  • Genuine friendly attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction

Job Duties

  • Makes memorable first and last impressions with a smile
  • Greets incoming and departing guests in a welcoming manner
  • Seats guests in the dining and bar areas while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
  • Coordinates wait and seats guests with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise
  • Commits to food safety, cleanliness, job safety and sanitation standards
  • Busses tables, delivers food and supports the dining room to WOW guests
  • Has general knowledge of food and drink menu and recommends and upsells products
  • Answers the phone promptly and professionally directing calls
  • Leads the lobby experience for each guest following Outback hospitality standards
  • Assists guests and supports servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring a clean dining environment
