As an Outbacker working in this position, you will be at the forefront of delivering the "AUS-SOME" dining experience to guests. This hourly, non-exempt role is focused on enabling memorable first and last impressions, greeting guests warmly, and ensuring smooth seating and service coordination. The role requires a genuine passion for customer service, teamwork, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards in a dynamic restaurant environment. Additional responsibilities include bussing tables, assisting servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, answering phones professionally, and having basic knowledge of food and drink menus to recommend and upsell products. The position supports the company's commitment to hospitality, making each guest’s dining experience better with friendly interactions and attentive service.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry or move up to 30 lbs
  • Able to work in hot and cold environments
  • Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping
  • Manual dexterity for handling glassware, utensils and technology systems
  • Ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Visual ability including distance, close, color, depth and peripheral vision
  • Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Responsible Beverage Service Certifications required for California positions (can be completed during training or within 60 days after start)

  • Greets incoming and departing Guests in a welcoming manner
  • Seats guests in the dining and bar areas, while ensuring a smooth handoff to service staff
  • Coordinates wait, and seats Guests with a sense of urgency
  • Always smiles and has genuine conversations with Guests
  • Demonstrates teamwork by supporting all areas of the restaurant as business needs arise
  • Teamwork is essential and expected of all Outbackers
  • Commitment to food safety, cleanliness, job safety and sanitation standards
  • Busses tables, delivers food and supports the dining room, while ensuring every opportunity to WOW our guests is fulfilled

  • Will have a general knowledge of the food and drink menu and be able to recommend and upsell products
  • Answers the phone in a prompt and professional manner and directs calls
  • Leads the lobby experience for each Guest, following Outback hospitality standards
  • As a Servers Assistant, you will be assisting guests and supporting Servers by serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables, and ensuring a clean, welcoming dining environment
  • The role involves working in areas with low or dim lighting
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
