Job Requirements

Passion for people, place and culture
Minimum of one years experience as a host in a restaurant
Experience with reservation platforms
Availability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays
Fluency in English verbal and written
Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift including negotiating wet floors and steps
Ability to roll or carry tables and chairs when needed
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
Ability to carry over shoulder occasionally
Use hand and elbow movements for polishing and table setup
Excellent sight and balance for navigating different floor surfaces
Ability to handle lit candles and hot fluids
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs of beverage goods and equipment

Job Qualifications

Minimum of one year of experience as a host in a standalone or hotel restaurant
Experience with reservation platforms including taking, making, and executing reservations
Passion for the people, place, and culture of the community
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

Uphold and model the company's principles of People, Place and Character, driving collaboration, intuition, and trans-local hospitality
Assist in all aspects of a guest's experience from beginning to end by extending a friendly greeting in an inviting environment, ensuring proper set-up of the host stand, reviewing reservations and making recommendations on room setup, executing requests in a friendly and timely manner, ensuring satisfaction throughout and adjusting as necessary
Participate in daily line ups and quarterly all staff meetings to develop ideas and objectives with the service team while providing constructive feedback and strategizing to overcome missed opportunities
Inspect the cleanliness of dining and private rooms, making improvements and ensuring tables are set properly before opening
Pick up daily menus, ensuring they are in good condition and properly inserted in covers
Develop a working knowledge of menus, ingredients, and daily unavailable items
Know server stations, daily assignments, timing patterns, maximum workload capacity, and balance and close shift properly
Answer telephones following hotel standards to take reservations or provide information about the restaurant or hotel services
Carry trays, bus, and reset tables with linens, china, glass, and silver as needed
Observe conditions of physical facilities and communicate issues to food and beverage leadership for correction
Communicate effectively with the Food & Beverage and Culinary teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of guest orders
Assist other Food & Beverage areas as needed
