Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to follow hospital policies and procedures
  • Availability to work PRN (as needed) shifts
  • Commitment to patient safety and service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Prior experience in a healthcare or customer service role preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with nursing and other hospital staff
  • Basic knowledge of dietary restrictions and patient meal protocols
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of services provided

Job Duties

  • Provide customer service to patients by delivering meals and taking special requests
  • Communicate effectively and respond to requests in a timely manner
  • Check patients’ meals for accuracy and stock nursing units with nourishments and menus
  • Provide service recovery as needed
  • Maintain documentation of completed services and actions taken
  • Work closely with nursing to ensure proper delivery of dietary trays
  • Deliver unit floor stock as required
