The role in focus is critical to maintaining the smooth and courteous operations of the restaurant. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly as they arrive, efficiently seating them, fostering rapport to address any special requests, and providing excellent service support throughout their visit. The role involves handling payments using computerized cash registers accurately and securely, ensuring proper transaction processing, and maintaining detailed records for the accounting department. Associates will actively circulate the restaurant during shifts to assist servers, respond quickly to any customer issues, and monitor the overall efficiency of the service. This position also entails maintaining cleanliness, organizing table settings, and promptly reporting any maintenance or housekeeping issues. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 months experience in a cash handling position with customer service exposure
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Competency in basic math for cash handling
- Physical ability to stand for entire shift and lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to handle coins, writing utensils, grasp handles, push buttons, and carry trays
- Capability to read printed and digital materials and perceive colors
- Willingness to work in an indoor environment with standing and walking
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience of at least 3 months in roles with heavy cash handling and customer service
- Proficiency with standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems
- General knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
Job Duties
- Greet arriving customers warmly and assist with seating
- Establish rapport to accommodate special needs and requests
- Assign sections and notify servers of new arrivals
- Handle payment transactions accurately using computerized cash registers
- Circulate the restaurant during shifts to assist servers and respond to customer requests
- Balance and reconcile cash and reports at the end of shifts for accounting
