The Host/Hostess role at CRAVE is vital to the seamless operation of the front of the house and overall guest experience. This hourly paid position, offering compensation between $19.00 and $21.00 per hour, requires an individual passionate about customer service and capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The primary responsibilities include managing guest arrivals and reservations using the Open Table system, greeting and seating guests promptly, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and restrooms, and coordinating effectively with servers and management to ensure efficient service flow and minimal wait times. The host also answers phone calls, takes reservations and takeout orders, and captures important guest information to personalize dining experiences.

This role demands excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, alongside basic computer proficiency and the ability to multitask efficiently. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Must be able to handle a fast-paced work environment

Job Duties

  • Responsible for checking in all employees and highlighting on the Open Table system
  • Answer the phone, take reservations, and take takeout orders
  • Ensures menus are clean and organized
  • Greet, check in and seat guests
  • Print any special chits off open table with special instructions and hand off to server upon their checking in
  • Review all of the open table reservations and map out the plan for the shift
  • Utilize open table to make sure to capture important information about guests
  • Work with manager on the floor to ensure the proper wait time
  • Ensure restrooms and the host stand are clean, stocked and organized
  • Interacts with guests to ensure positive dining experience
