Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for delivering exceptional guest experiences and innovative services across a vast portfolio of hotels and resorts. Marriott Hotels, a prominent brand within this portfolio, focuses on elevating the art of hospitality by combining thoughtful, heartfelt service with forward-thinking innovations. This commitment makes Marriott Hotels a preferred destination for travelers worldwide and an attractive employer for individuals passionate about careers in hospitality.
Located at 1600 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, Texas, Marriott Hotels offers a dynamic, full-time opportunity within its Food and Beverage department. This position is classified as non-management, providing an essential role that supports the smooth operation of food and beverage services. The role is based on-site, emphasizing the importance of physical presence and engagement with guests and team members to maintain high service standards.
The Guest Service Support Expert is a vital member of the Marriott Hotels Food and Beverage team. This role goes beyond simply serving food and drinks; it involves creating a memorable and unique experience for each guest. The expert is responsible for a variety of tasks, including setting tables, assisting kitchen operations, cleaning work areas, and replenishing supplies. These tasks collectively ensure that the food and beverage operations run seamlessly, enhancing the overall guest experience.
Physical stamina and attentiveness are critical, as the role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, often on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. The role also demands the ability to handle physical activities such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance. Employees must also be able to reach overhead and below the knees, involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Marriott International is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. This role is open to all qualified candidates, with a strong emphasis on non-discrimination and diversity. Marriott values the unique backgrounds, cultures, talents, and experiences of its associates, believing these bring strength to the company.
Educationally, a high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred, although no related work experience is strictly necessary. Previous exposure to food and beverage environments can be beneficial but is not required. Additionally, there is no supervisory responsibility attached to this position, nor are any licenses or certifications mandatory. Marriott International invests in the growth and development of its associates, encouraging them to become their best selves while contributing meaningfully to the overall guest experience.
Joining Marriott Hotels means becoming part of a global team dedicated to "Wonderful Hospitality. Always." If you are passionate about hospitality, eager to contribute to a renowned brand, and ready to engage in a role that values your dedication and professionalism, this Guest Service Support Expert position offers an excellent opportunity to grow and thrive within the Marriott family.
