The role of Host/Hostess at The Medallion Club is a pivotal position responsible for creating the first and lasting impression of the club’s distinguished experience. This position is available on a part-time or full-time basis, with compensation set at $16 per hour. The Host/Hostess welcomes members and guests warmly with a polished and professional demeanor. Key responsibilities include managing reservations, coordinating guest seating, and ensuring seamless communication between the front-of-house and culinary teams. The ideal candidate will be personable and attentive to detail, thriving in a member-focused environment where outstanding hospitality and service excellence are paramount. This role also involves maintaining an organized host stand, monitoring the dining room flow to balance table rotations, handling phone inquiries about dining and club events, and assisting with special occasions and banquets when needed. The Host/Hostess must uphold the club's appearance and etiquette standards and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and maintaining confidentiality. This opportunity is well suited for individuals with prior experience in hosting, hospitality, or customer service roles, especially those accustomed to upscale or private club environments. Hospitality coursework or training is beneficial though not mandatory. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous host, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
  • Experience in a private club, upscale restaurant, or hotel environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with reservation systems preferred
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable and punctual

Job Duties

  • Greet members and guests promptly with professionalism, warmth, and a welcoming demeanor
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain an organized host stand and up-to-date seating chart
  • Escort members and guests to their tables and present menus with polished service
  • Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and managers to support smooth service flow
  • Receive and place to-go orders, ensuring accuracy and warm service (tips included)
  • Monitor dining room pace and assist in balancing table rotations
  • Answer phone calls courteously and assist with inquiries regarding dining, events, and club activities
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entryway, host area, and dining room
  • Uphold club standards of appearance, etiquette, and confidentiality
  • Assist with special events, banquets, and member functions as needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to service, teamwork, and upholding club standards
