Job Description

Virgin Hotels is a vibrant and innovative hospitality company known for its unique approach to luxury accommodations and exceptional guest experiences. As a contemporary hotel brand, Virgin Hotels seamlessly blends the excitement of a boutique hotel with the comforts of premium amenities, catering to a diverse clientele ranging from business travelers to leisure guests. The company prides itself on creating lively social spaces, inventive food and beverage concepts, and delivering top-tier customer service that reflects the brand's commitment to inclusivity and community. With locations in key cities, Virgin Hotels fosters an environment that champions creativity, exceptional service, and a personalized guest journey, encouraging employees to embody their core values of being adventurous, proactive, and authentic.

The Host/Hostess position at Virgin Hotels is a pivotal role designed to ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive until they leave. This front-of-house position involves greeting guests warmly, providing accurate wait times, managing reservations, and escorting customers to their designated dining or bar areas. The role requires a person with excellent organizational skills and a friendly, engaging personality to maintain the smooth flow of the dining experience. Hosts and hostesses act as the first point of contact and are crucial in setting the tone for a positive and memorable visit.

In addition to greeting guests and managing seating arrangements, the Host/Hostess must be well-versed in health and safety standards, particularly the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) regulations, ensuring compliance throughout the venue. This attention to detail protects both guests and staff, contributing to Virgin Hotels’ reputation for high standards in cleanliness and service. The position also demands strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with wait staff and management, handle guest inquiries via phone or in-person, and facilitate seamless coordination behind the scenes.

The ideal candidate for this role is patient and poised under pressure, capable of managing busy periods with grace while maintaining a positive attitude. They must also be adaptable and cooperative, working well as part of a team while independently managing the reception area’s upkeep, including cleanliness and organization. The ability to explain basic menu details and beverages, attend to special guest needs such as those of children or elderly patrons, and support wait staff by keeping supplies stocked are also vital components of the job.

This position requires the successful applicant to hold a current Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification, along with the legal ability to work in the United States. Virgin Hotels offers a dynamic work environment where employees are encouraged to participate in ongoing training sessions, fostering professional development and a culture of excellence. The role demands physical stamina due to periods of standing and occasional bending or stretching, often in environments with varying temperatures and sounds.

Virgin Hotels values diversity and is committed to providing an inclusive workplace that respects and celebrates differences. This Host/Hostess role not only offers the chance to be part of a renowned hospitality brand but also to grow personally and professionally in an energetic and supportive setting. The company encourages candidates who are enthusiastic, tenacious, and uphold high integrity to apply and join their team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
