We are currently seeking a professional and enthusiastic Host to join our team at a compensation rate of $16.90 per hour. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for greeting and escorting them to tables while maintaining our high standards of guest service. You will manage seating arrangements, coordinate communication between shifts through detailed log book entries, assist with service as needed, and handle records related to reservations and special functions. The role involves maintaining the dining area's proper setup and ensuring all activities comply with workplace safety and environmental sustainability protocols. This position offers a clear growth path from Host to Food Server or Guest Service Agent and potentially to supervisory roles such as Restaurant Supervisor or Front Office Supervisor.
The ideal candidate should possess strong communication and organizational skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a willingness to embrace safe work habits including the use of protective safety equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and previous customer service experience is preferred. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds, which fosters a physically active work environment. Job Duties
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive
- offer choice of seating
- escort to the dining table and present menu
- read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management
- maintain proper set-up of the dining room
- assist as needed or requested with service
- receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant
- follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program
- practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
- perform other duties as requested by management
