Job Requirements
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Standing and moving throughout the work area
- Handling food, objects, products, and utensils

Job Qualifications
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Prior customer service or cash handling experience in hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of menu items and restaurant operations
- Communication skills for guest interaction
- Ability to describe menu items and preparation methods
- Mathematical skills including basic math and percentages
- Alcohol awareness certification or food service permit as required
- Valid health or food handler card if mandated by local or state laws
Job Duties
- Courteously greet and escort guests to tables
- Assist in seating guests ensuring hotel service standards
- Prepare the restaurant for service and maintain cleanliness
- Maintain knowledge of menu items and specials
- Abide by state liquor regulations especially regarding service to minors and intoxicated persons
- Know table, seat, and station numbers
- Ensure proper table setups and room capacity adherence
- Use restaurant equipment correctly and as intended
- Comply with all departmental policies and service procedures
- Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff
- Set up hostess station with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness
- Inspect restaurant environment and entrance area for cleanliness and standards compliance
- Inspect and update menus and wine lists
- Place newspapers in designated areas for breakfast
- Report shortages and any deficiencies to supervisors
