The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Airport Convention Center is currently seeking an experienced Hostess/Cashier to join its vibrant Food & Beverage team. This is a full-time, onsite role paying $14.00 per hour. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager, this essential front-of-house position plays a crucial role in the overall guest experience by warmly greeting guests, managing seating arrangements efficiently, and processing transactions accurately at the Grab & Go outlet.

The role of Hostess/Cashier requires excellent interpersonal skills to create a positive first impression for guests, maintain an organized and smoothly operating seating system, and ensure transactions are handled swiftly and correctly. The Hostess/Cashier will be responsible for welcoming guests, recording names and party sizes during busy periods, calling customers when tables are ready, providing estimated wait times, and accommodating special seating requests whenever possible. They will also seat guests in manners that optimize customer flow across service stations and ensure guests receive menus and server information promptly. Inspecting tables for proper presentation and completeness before seating and relaying messages effectively to servers and buspersons are integral parts of the job.

This position demands physical stamina, as the Hostess/Cashier must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Basic math skills and the ability to operate a cash register efficiently are essential, as is effective communication in the predominant language of the guests. Fluency in a second language, especially Spanish, is preferred and will be an asset in serving the diverse client base.
