The Host/Hostess role at Tacombi plays a crucial part in setting the tone and making a lasting impression on all guests visiting the restaurant. The host/hostess serves as the first point of contact, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, managing the flow of patrons into the dining and bar areas, and maintaining an organized and efficient seating plan. This role involves working closely with the entire team to ensure that every guest has a memorable and enjoyable experience, embodying the Tacombi Service Culture and brand values in every interaction.
Ideal candidates for this full-time position should have one to two years of relevant experience in hospitality roles such as host/hostess, maitre d', or concierge. Job Requirements
- Flexible schedule and ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
- minimum 1-2 years of experience as a host/hostess, maitre d’ or concierge
- positive attitude and passion for guest service
- ability to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment
- assertive self-starter - takes initiative and can work well independently
- able to stand for long periods of time
- ability to handle and move objects of up to 20lbs
- knowledge of the New York cultural landscape including dining, art, music, film and fashion
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a host/hostess, maitre d' or concierge

Job Duties
- Offer every guest a friendly and sincere welcome
- anticipate and be responsive to guests’ needs
- thank every guest and offer a fond farewell
- embody the Tacombi Service Culture and ensure the Tacombi Experience is carried throughout all interactions with guests
- manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming guests to promote retention
- manage reservations and take responsibility for guests’ satisfaction until seated and departure
- serve as an ambassador of the Tacombi brand to positively impact guests, coworkers, and community
- maintain high standards of cleanliness, professional appearance and demeanor
- be knowledgeable of restaurant policies, Tacombi brand values, and neighborhood events
- maintain an upbeat and positive attitude
- cooperate closely with team members and other departments for an excellent guest experience
- observe guest needs throughout dining experience
- report to General Manager
