Job Description

HomeGrown is a unique and thriving daytime eatery that brings a fresh and inviting approach to the dining experience. Established as part of Thrive Restaurant Group, a respected family-owned company with over 50 years of experience in the restaurant industry, HomeGrown has quickly become one of the most popular breakfast and brunch destinations in Northwest Arkansas. Since its inception in 2017, HomeGrown has expanded to several locations, gaining a reputation for its warm atmosphere, high-quality local ingredients, and commitment to kindness and community. Positioned in the vibrant food scene, HomeGrown is known for its dedication to 'Local when it’s better,' carefully sourcing from local food purveyors, farmers, and beekeepers to ensure the freshest, highest quality dishes for its customers.

The establishment is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place where kindness is cultivated and integrated into every aspect of service. The culture at HomeGrown promotes teamwork, respect, and personal development among its employees, creating a welcoming environment that supports growth and positivity. The company values a work-life balance, with a clear emphasis on early shifts and no dinner service, ensuring that team members are off work by 3:30 PM every day. This schedule fosters an enjoyable work environment that respects personal time while still offering competitive wages that meet or exceed traditional restaurant jobs. Full-time employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including paid time off, vision, dental, and medical insurance, making HomeGrown an attractive employer in the hospitality sector.

The role of Host/Hostess at HomeGrown is central to maintaining the restaurant’s upbeat and friendly atmosphere. This Front of House team member acts as the welcoming face of the restaurant, making guests feel valued from the moment they enter and ensuring they finish their visit with a lasting positive impression. The host/hostess position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a kind and supportive attitude, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service. In addition to greeting and seating guests, this role involves coordinating with servers, bussers, and management to keep the seating flow smooth and efficient. The host/hostess also manages the waitlist and seating system, handles phone inquiries, and supports teammates by pre-bussing and cleaning tables and sections as needed.

This position demands someone who is fast, accurate, and attentive to detail, with the ability to work safely and efficiently for shifts that can extend up to 10 hours. Physical stamina is essential, as the job includes mobility throughout the restaurant, lifting and carrying bus tubs and equipment, and the capacity to respond quickly and safely in emergencies. The position offers a great opportunity for those looking to work in a dynamic, family-oriented restaurant environment, where learning about hospitality, leadership, and business is encouraged. HomeGrown’s commitment to kindness and excellent service makes it not only a place to work but a community to belong to.
