Palio is a vibrant and well-established full-service casual dining restaurant inspired by the iconic Palio di Siena horse race held twice yearly in Siena, Italy. This renowned event embodies boldness, energy, and spirited excitement, which Palio brings to life through its robust food and beverages as well as its lively dining atmosphere. The restaurant offers authentic Tuscan-style cuisine featuring handcrafted dishes like large pizzas baked in an industrial gas-fired stone pizza oven, classic Italian entrees including bolognese, carbonara, and lasagna, all prepared with the freshest local and seasonal ingredients. Notably, Palio cultivates many of its own herbs in an in-house garden to enhance its distinctive and flavorful dishes.
Palio prides itself on creating memorable dining experiences by consistently exceeding guest expectations. The wine and beverage program is equally impressive, highlighting craft beers, creatively hand-crafted cocktails, and an extensive selection of wines and grappa to perfectly complement the menu. The kitchen operates entirely from scratch with an emphasis on seasonal, local produce, proudly led by a talented head chef who crafts unique and innovative features alongside the traditional fare.
Currently, Palio is seeking enthusiastic and personable Host and Hostess team members to join its dynamic front of house team. This role is pivotal in shaping the guest’s first impression through warm greetings, efficient guest seating, managing reservations, and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Applicants with experience in high-volume dining settings and the ability to efficiently work in various front of house stations are highly preferred. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a host or in customer service roles preferred
- ability to stand and move for extended periods
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- strong verbal communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- dependable and punctual work ethic
Job Qualifications
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- previous experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
- ability to multitask and work under pressure
- strong attention to detail and service quality
- friendly and approachable demeanor
- familiarity with reservation management systems is a plus
- ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- greet and seat guests promptly and courteously
- manage reservations and guest inquiries efficiently
- maintain an organized and clean host stand and waiting area
- communicate effectively with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth guest flow
- handle guest concerns and requests with professionalism
- assist in opening and closing duties for the front of house area
- support other front of house stations as needed
