Job Description
Thrive Restaurant Group is a well-established family-owned restaurant company that has proudly served its communities for over 50 years. With a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of the people they serve, this company fosters a welcoming and supportive family atmosphere where employees can thrive personally and professionally. Thrive Restaurant Group is dedicated not just to delivering exceptional dining experiences but also to being an active and positive force in the neighborhoods it serves. The company’s mission is built on the values of community involvement, hospitality, and growth. Employees are encouraged to grow their skills in business, leadership, and hospitality while working in a fun and inclusive environment where the focus on quality service and teamwork is paramount.
Operating Applebee’s restaurants under the name Legacy Apple, Thrive Restaurant Group embodies the spirit of being a good neighbor. Applebee’s itself has a strong reputation as a neighborhood staple, known for creating memorable dining experiences and supporting local communities. This commitment is reflected in the company’s extensive charitable work, including initiatives such as saving high school proms and raising funds for children battling cancer. Having given over $5 million to these causes, the company deeply believes in strengthening relationships and lives in the communities it serves. This guiding principle of “Be a Good Neighbor” reinforces their dedication to hospitality and community service.
The role of Host at Thrive Restaurant Group’s Applebee’s locations is a key position that sets the tone for guest experiences. As the first point of contact, hosts are responsible for greeting guests with a warm, bright smile and a friendly attitude that immediately communicates a welcoming environment. This position requires the ability to enthusiastically assist guests from the moment they arrive until their departure, ensuring a smooth and positive flow throughout their visit. Hosts help guests find their seats, accommodate special needs such as boosters or highchairs, and manage the waitlist during busy times. Attention to detail and a caring sense of hospitality are essential to make sure every guest feels valued and comfortable.
Beyond guest interaction, hosts support servers by providing assistance as needed and maintain a clean, organized work area. This role balances guest service with operational tasks to ensure the restaurant functions efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Being physically mobile and able to perform tasks such as wiping down tables and carrying items up to 15 pounds multiple times per shift is necessary in this fast-paced environment. The company embraces diversity and inclusivity, providing reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities to perform their essential functions successfully.
In recognition of the critical role hosts play, Thrive Restaurant Group offers compensation based on the tip credit minimum wage plus tips. While actual earnings vary depending on availability and individual performance, this role offers an opportunity to earn competitive income while gaining valuable experience in customer service and hospitality. This position is ideal for individuals who have a desire to care for others, grow on a personal and professional level, and contribute positively to a close-knit team dedicated to community values and quality service.
