The Host/Hostess position is a critical front-line role within the club’s Food and Beverage Department. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for members and guests, setting the tone for their overall dining experience. This role requires a warm and professional demeanor to greet guests personally, manage seating arrangements efficiently, and coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service flow. Responsibilities include handling reservations and waitlists using specialized point-of-sale and reservation systems, assisting with phone inquiries, and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the host stand and entry area. The Host/Hostess will also support buffet and event setups, uphold food safety and sanitation standards, and contribute positively to the team dynamic by assisting colleagues and communicating effectively. Job Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Greet members and guests by name whenever possible
  • Escort guests to tables and present menus and daily features
  • Answer phones and assist with questions, reservations, and to-go orders
  • Manage reservations and waitlists using Club Essential POS and Host Me
  • Communicate seating updates with servers and bartenders
  • Monitor dining room flow and assist with pacing
  • Maintain a clean and organized host stand and entry area
  • Stock menus, children’s menus, and supplies
  • Polish and roll silverware as needed
  • Assist with buffet and event setup and breakdown
  • Complete side work at the end of each shift
  • Attend pre-shift lineups
  • Follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support teammates and jump in where needed
  • Provide prompt, courteous service to all members and guests
  • Report issues or member concerns to management
