We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Host to join our front-of-house team. The Host will play a crucial role in driving client visits, retaining existing patrons, and building new relationships by providing exceptional hospitality from the moment guests arrive. This position involves managing all aspects of reservation systems, particularly using Yelp, preparing the host stand and front door area, and ensuring guests feel welcomed and engaged as soon as they enter. The ideal candidate will be observant, quick to respond, and capable of multitasking effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment characterized by high noise levels, lighting variations, and various environmental factors. Responsibilities also include supporting the team, participating in daily briefings, and acting as an ambassador for the restaurant by marketing our products and enhancing the overall guest experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to maintain composure and efficiency during busy periods. By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Host will significantly contribute to the restaurant's ongoing success and vibrant customer culture.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or hosting preferred
  • proficiency in using reservation systems like Yelp
  • excellent verbal communication skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly
  • basic computer literacy
  • positive attitude and professionalism

Job Duties

  • Develops new ways to drive clients to visit the restaurant and retain existing clients, while building new ones
  • Knows all the systems related to the reservation system (Yelp)
  • Sets up the host stand and the front door
  • Develops a working knowledge of what’s happening in town
  • Is responsible for welcoming guests at the door and walking them back to their assigned table, always engaging a conversation during the walk
  • Is responsible to enter all reservations into our reservations management system (Yelp)
  • Promptly responds to all phone calls related to reservations
  • Adheres to all established policies , procedures and guidelines
  • Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while multitasking in a stressful conditions
  • Attends and participates in daily pre-shifts and other scheduled meetings
  • Acts as an ambassador of the restaurant, marketing it and all products offered to the targeted customer base
  • Must be able to work in a fast pace and high –volume environment, in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights, sun, rain and dust
  • and communicate during this time, sometimes within a small area
  • Performs all opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Provide help and support to all fellow team members
