The Host role at Thrive Restaurant Group is a critical front-of-house position, responsible for creating the first and last impression guests have when they visit the restaurant. This role demands a genuine passion for hospitality, a bright and welcoming smile, and the ability to manage guest flow efficiently to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The Host warmly greets guests as they arrive and depart, assists them to their seats, and addresses any special needs such as accommodating boosters, highchairs, or disabilities. This position requires managing waitlists during busy periods, supporting servers when needed, and maintaining a clean and organized entrance and dining area. This role is physically active, involving moving throughout the restaurant, lifting items up to 25 pounds occasionally, and cleaning duties to maintain the restaurant's inviting atmosphere. Employees in this position receive tip credit minimum wage plus tips, with actual earnings varying based on availability and performance.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is advantageous
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Adequate vision to discern cleanliness and operate a touchscreen
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required

Job Qualifications

  • A desire to care for others, grow, and learn
  • A positive attitude
  • Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required
  • Mobility required during the entire shift
  • Ability to transport and carry objects such as high-chairs up to 15 pounds up to 15 times a shift
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant

Job Duties

  • Opens door for guests arriving and departing
  • Accommodates any special needs of guests such as boosters, highchairs, disabilities
  • Manages the wait list when the restaurant is full
  • Provides guest assistance to servers as needed
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area and completes cleaning as assigned
  • Invites all guests back for another experience
