Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a unique and distinguished hospitality establishment that combines a Napa-style tasting room featuring wine-inspired retail with a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. This company offers a modern yet casual dining experience focused on scratch-kitchen menu items thoughtfully designed to pair perfectly with their award-winning wines. Cooper's Hawk operates one of the largest wine clubs in the world, providing exclusive membership benefits such as curated dining and travel experiences. Founded in 2005, the company has successfully brought an authentic Napa Valley experience to its guests and wine club members. Recently, Cooper's Hawk expanded its portfolio with Piccolo Buco by Cooper's Hawk, a concept that introduces the vibrant flavors of Rome, further broadening its culinary and experiential appeal. The company is passionate about creating a lifestyle brand centered around high-quality wine, food, and guest experiences, making it a leader in the hospitality and wine industry.
The Host role at Cooper's Hawk is pivotal in setting the initial tone for the entire guest experience, acting as the first and last point of contact for guests. This position requires someone who exemplifies uncompromising hospitality from the moment guests arrive until their departure. Hosts are responsible for delivering warm welcomes, managing smooth table flow, and engaging in helpful conversations to ensure every guest feels personally taken care of. The role demands presence, attentiveness, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Hosts at Cooper's Hawk are expected to maintain professionalism, follow operational checklists, and uphold the company's appearance and behavioral standards at all times.
In addition to greeting and seating guests effectively, Hosts must monitor dining room pacing and make adjustments to seating plans to prevent bottlenecks and ensure efficient table turnover. Communication is key, as Hosts collaborate closely with managers and team members to maintain a seamless service flow. The position also requires a knowledge of the menu, wines, and experiences offered, with the ability to educate guests and share insights about Cooper's Hawk's signature Barrel Reserve wines.
Beyond operational duties, Hosts go the extra mile by supporting servers and service assistants, assisting with light side work, and maintaining an inviting host area to create memorable first impressions. Phone etiquette and reservation management skills are also essential for this role. Cooper's Hawk supports its team members with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, discounts on dining and retail wine, paid time off, wellness support, and opportunities for career growth and development. The company values team spirit, communication, and a genuine passion for hospitality, making it an ideal workplace for individuals seeking to contribute to an exceptional guest experience while advancing their careers in the hospitality sector.
