Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or as a host
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Willingness to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to maintain a professional and neat appearance
- Must have good positive energy throughout the day
- Ability to work in noisy, crowded, and smoky environments
- Ability to follow company policies and health standards
Job Qualifications
- Previous hospitality experience
- Previous host person experience
- Experience in a high-volume restaurant, nightclub, or lounge
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of health and sanitation standards
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle fast-paced and stressful environments
Job Duties
- Guides guests to appropriate table as directed by the maître d'
- Interacts with guests, team members, and supervisors in a polite and hospitable manner
- Anticipates and accommodates the needs of guests
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the entrance area
- Complies with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
- Actively takes and processes reservations for guests
- Assists with incoming calls and guest inquiries
- Checks guests’ coats and belongings when applicable
- Assists with setting up front desk area and performs side-work including opening and closing procedures
- Ensures all menus are printed, current, and organized
- Collects menus throughout the venue during shift
- Reports breakage or damage immediately to management
- Attends daily pre-service meetings and training sessions
- Demonstrates knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality and supporting hotel environments
- Provides support to team members and assists with additional tasks as assigned
