Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a renowned American restaurant and retail chain that has been serving delicious food, abundant servings, unexpected finds, and a warm welcome since 1969. With a mission to create a space where folks can reconnect and feel at home, Cracker Barrel prides itself on its roots and commitment to hospitality. The company operates more than 70,000 team members nationwide, fostering a culture of belonging, teamwork, and mutual respect. At Cracker Barrel, the work is more than just a job – it's about creating memorable moments both big and small, through genuine care and attention to every guest’s experience. This dedication to hospitality is embedded in every aspect of the business, from greeting guests at the door to preparing their favorite biscuit recipe. Cracker Barrel maintains an inclusive workplace, adhering strictly to equal employment opportunity laws, ensuring all qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, age, marital status, medical condition, disability, or any other legally protected class. The company also offers reasonable accommodations during the application process, supporting individuals with disabilities or impairments to ensure fair access to employment opportunities.

The Host role at Cracker Barrel is a vital first step in creating a great guest experience. As a Host, you will be the warm and friendly face that welcomes guests and makes them feel right at home from the moment they walk through the door. You'll be responsible for managing the flow of the dining room by overseeing the waitlist, updating guests with a warm smile, and ensuring each table is promptly cleaned and ready for the next group to enjoy their meal. This role is perfect for individuals who are able to stay calm and composed during busy times and who genuinely enjoy working in a team-first environment. New team members don’t need prior restaurant experience as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training through its industry-leading PAR training program, enabling every individual to grow and succeed from day one.

Beyond the core responsibilities, Cracker Barrel is committed to supporting its employees with competitive pay offered weekly along with same-day pay access. The company offers health insurance eligibility from the first day for both full-time and part-time employees, vacation time, and an employee assistance program designed to support overall wellbeing. Employees also benefit from a 401k plan with company matching contributions starting at 90 days of employment and an Employee Stock Purchase Program. In addition to these benefits, the company fosters a culture of belonging including onboarding, continuous training, recognition programs, and employee events that build camaraderie and connection among team members. Cracker Barrel also provides additional perks such as a 35% discount on food and retail items and exclusive Biscuit Perks offering discounts on home, travel, cell phones, and more.

Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a team that takes pride in working together to make a difference every day. It is a community where everyone’s contributions are valued, and where positive energy and a warm, approachable spirit make every interaction meaningful. Whether you are welcoming guests, preparing food, or supporting operations behind the scenes, your role is critical in creating the moments that matter. Cracker Barrel invites you to find your place with this welcoming team and experience what it truly means to be all in good company.
