Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a renowned American restaurant and gift store chain that seamlessly blends Southern country charm with warm hospitality. Since its founding in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown to become a beloved destination for guests looking to enjoy delicious home-style food, abundant servings, and unique retail finds. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, the company prides itself on fostering a welcoming atmosphere that goes beyond serving a meal—it’s a place where guests can reconnect, feel at home, and make meaningful memories. Cracker Barrel values teamwork, pride in work, and a culture that supports and recognizes every team member’s contributions, making it a truly inclusive and engaging workplace.

The host role at Cracker Barrel plays a crucial part in crafting every guest’s experience from the moment they walk through the door. As the friendly face welcoming customers, the host is responsible for making guests feel right at home with genuine warmth and a positive attitude. This position requires managing the flow of the dining room efficiently by maintaining the waitlist, seating guests promptly, and ensuring tables are prepared for the next group. Although prior restaurant experience is not required, the company offers comprehensive training to equip hosts with the skills and knowledge needed to excel.

Beyond greeting guests and facilitating smooth dining service, Cracker Barrel prioritizes the growth and well-being of its employees. The company offers competitive weekly pay, same-day pay access, and health insurance eligibility starting on day one for both full-time and part-time employees. Additional benefits include paid vacation time, employee assistance programs, and opportunities for professional development through its industry-leading PAR training program. Hosts can also take advantage of a 401k plan with company matching, an employee stock purchase program, and attractive employee discounts on food and retail items.

Work culture at Cracker Barrel emphasizes belonging and support, beginning from the onboarding process through continuous training and employee recognition programs. The company actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring equal opportunity employment without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. Cracker Barrel is committed to providing reasonable accommodations during the hiring process to support all applicants.

This host role offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a customer-focused environment, thrive under pressure, and want to be part of a team committed to hospitality excellence. Whether you are starting your career or seeking a new opportunity in the restaurant industry, Cracker Barrel promises a welcoming workplace where your positive energy and teamwork are valued and where each small moment contributes to making a big difference for guests and colleagues alike. Join Cracker Barrel and discover a place where you are truly all in good company.
