The Front Desk and Host position at Dave & Buster's plays a critical role in shaping guests' first impressions. The host is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing the flow of patrons, coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and supporting dining experiences. As the ambassador of the venue, the host must maintain a positive attitude and exhibit professionalism at all times. This position also includes a variety of organizational responsibilities, such as preparing the front desk for shifts, ensuring cleanliness, restocking supplies, and managing wait times efficiently. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 16 years of age
  • able to work days, nights, and/or weekends as required
  • able to work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions
  • able to read and write handwritten notes
  • able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
  • able to move about facility and stand for long periods of time
  • able to walk or stand 100 percent of shift
  • able to reach, bend, and stoop frequently

Job Qualifications

  • must be at least 16 years of age
  • must demonstrate ability to read and communicate in English
  • restaurant, retail, or cashier experience preferred but not required
  • employee needs to be able to communicate effectively with multiple guests while generating enthusiasm for d&b
  • must be skilled at calmly responding to dissatisfied guests and calling issues to manager's attention
  • must be friendly and able to smile frequently
  • is dressed in accordance with dress guidelines, looking neat, clean, and professional at all times

Job Duties

  • delivers an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun
  • acts as ambassador to the building, greeting guests with a positive attitude and enthusiasm while coordinating game rentals, merchandise sales, and telephones
  • keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action
  • bids farewell to guests leaving and ensures everything was satisfactory and invites guests to return
  • prepares for the shift by ensuring area is stocked with supplies such as menus, silverware, power cards, gift cards etc
  • reviews the cleanliness and organization of the front desk and host station
  • manages flow from the front doors, efficiently helping guests with needs and directing as needed
  • makes timely and accurate calculations of bill transactions
