Job Description

Sanford Health is one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States. With nearly 50,000 dedicated members of the Sanford Family, the organization is committed to advancing health and healing across a broad geographic footprint. Sanford Health's reputation is built on providing comprehensive healthcare services, innovative programs, and continuous opportunities for career development and advancement for its employees. The organization fosters a supportive and inclusive work environment, reflecting its mission to improve the lives of the communities it serves through compassionate care and excellence in service.

This job opportunity is for the position of Host within Sanford Health's food service operations. The Host role is a vital part of creating a positive and welcoming dining experience for guests. This position functions as the first point of contact in the dining area, responsible not only for greeting and seating guests but also for managing the flow and atmosphere in the dining spaces. Given the dynamic nature of the role, it requires the Host to support the team in multiple capacities including food running, bussing tables, setting up dining areas, as well as ensuring cleanliness and sanitization of equipment. The work shift varies and is based in the United States, with an emphasis on teamwork and maintaining high standards of customer service.

The role offers an engaging work environment where employees have the opportunity to contribute directly to guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The Host is involved in key operational duties such as managing reservations, coordinating seating based on server rotation, maintaining an accurate waitlist during peak times, and providing clear communication with guests regarding wait times. In addition to front-of-house responsibilities, the Host supports the kitchen and serving staff by delivering food promptly and effectively clearing and resetting tables to facilitate smooth table turnover. This position is well suited for individuals who enjoy interactive, fast-paced work settings and value providing friendly, exceptional customer service in a healthcare-related environment.

Candidates will appreciate that Sanford Health values food safety and sanitation by requiring compliance with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines. Additionally, the Host must demonstrate the ability to work independently and cooperate seamlessly with a team to uphold a clean, organized, and inviting environment for guests. This opportunity is ideal for individuals with some food service experience or those interested in gaining relevant skills, as on-the-job training is provided. Depending on the location, there may be a requirement to obtain ServSafe certification within a set timeframe, ensuring adherence to professional food safety standards.

Working at Sanford Health not only offers a chance to be part of a nationally recognized health system but also to engage in a career path with potential for growth and personal development. This position embodies the organization's commitment to exceptional customer experience and operational excellence within their dining services. Sanford Health does not operate under union agreements for this role, allowing for a collaborative and flexible work culture. If you are someone who values health, hospitality, and making a meaningful contribution within a respected not-for-profit organization, this Host role presents an excellent career opportunity to consider.
