Job Requirements

  • 0-1+ years in the hospitality industry such as hotel, restaurant, nightclub
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • San Diego County Food Handler's Card to be submitted within 30 days of employment
  • completion of anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class
  • full-time flexible hours including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • able to stand and walk for 8 hours
  • able to bend, push, pull and lift 30 lbs
  • able to sit for up to 8 hours
  • ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and attend them in a polite friendly manner
  • have and maintain knowledge of facility, surrounding area, prices and menu items offered
  • walk guests to their table while engaging in conversation when possible
  • walk guests to the restrooms instead of just pointing the way
  • maintain reservations at Open Table and gather detailed guest information
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of menus
  • answer the phone promptly
  • communicate efficiently with management, service staff and guests
  • have working knowledge of the POS system (Aloha) to complete transactions efficiently
  • complete opening, running, and closing side-work duties
