With a rich heritage spanning over 100 years, Delaware North is a family-owned business that prides itself on delivering exceptional guest experiences while providing diverse career opportunities for its employees. Operating the concessions and premium dining services at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Delaware North manages a wide array of outlets, including concession stands, suites, all-inclusive areas, and exclusive clubs. One of its signature operations at the stadium is J. Leinenkugel's Barrel Yard Brewery, Bar, and Restaurant, which highlights a culinary partnership with local vendors to infuse authentic Milwaukee flavors into its food and beverage offerings.
Delaware North’s business model revolves around people—both guests and team members—fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented workplace culture. Employees at Delaware North are encouraged to advance their careers with flexible job opportunities spanning part-time to full-time roles in various sectors such as restaurants, hotels, sports, gaming, operations, and retail. This seamless blend of tradition, innovation, and commitment to workplace diversity establishes Delaware North as an employer of choice for anyone passionate about hospitality and guest service.
The role of Seasonal Host at Delaware North Sportservice’s Barrel Yard team offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where the primary responsibility is to provide a warm welcome to guests, manage the host station, and ensure smooth seating arrangements during event days at American Family Field. This position requires a high level of energy, attentiveness, and a genuine desire to engage with customers, making each guest feel valued while maintaining an organized and efficient flow within the dining area. Hosts will review floor plans and reservation books daily, create seating charts, set up host stations according to established checklists, and greet guests upon arrival. They seat patrons based on server rotations, guest preferences, and the seating chart, all while ensuring that wait times are kept under control.
Besides welcoming guests, the role also includes maintaining cleanliness and order at the host station, assisting with bussing and clearing tables, running food when necessary, and frequently checking and restocking restrooms. There is an emphasis on proactive guest communication, addressing any questions or concerns, and escalating complaints to management promptly to ensure guest satisfaction. Hosts also manage telephone lines during operational hours to facilitate smooth communication.
This seasonal position in Milwaukee offers competitive pay between $13.00 and $15.00 per hour and access to a comprehensive benefits package, which includes weekly paychecks, training and professional development opportunities, employee discounts, flexible work schedules, and eligibility for health, dental, and vision insurance. Additional benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation and holidays, parental leave, an employee assistance program, and tuition or professional certification reimbursements are available to eligible team members. This job opportunity caters to individuals who enjoy working in an active, team-oriented environment and are committed to delivering excellent guest experiences.
Ultimately, joining Delaware North as a Seasonal Host means becoming part of a global legacy in hospitality, gaining valuable experience, and contributing to a team that celebrates hospitality in some of the world’s most thrilling and high-profile venues. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunity employment regardless of race, gender, religion, or other protected statuses, thus fostering a welcoming and supportive workplace for all employees.
