This part-time position based in the Toledo-Rossford, OH Michaels store focuses on event coordination and customer experience within the retail environment. The role entails planning, coordinating, and facilitating multiple creative events, including children's birthday parties and craft classes, aimed at providing a stress-free, fun, and engaging atmosphere for guests of all ages. A key responsibility is delivering friendly and helpful customer service, assisting shoppers in locating products, and ensuring a swift and pleasant checkout experience. The event coordinator interacts with a diverse clientele, ranging from young children to seniors beyond 94 years of age, promoting creativity and fun through hands-on craft projects, face painting, and other engaging activities. Administrative tasks such as email communication, phone calls, paperwork, and adjustments to events based on client feedback are essential components of the role, alongside logistical duties including setup, breakdown, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards aligned with company policies. The role also includes participation in operational tasks such as truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, and adherence to company programs related to shrink and safety. Job Duties
- Plan and coordinate multiple events including children's birthday parties and craft classes
- engage clients of all ages to create a fun and creative environment
- demonstrate and instruct craft projects and perform activities such as face painting
- facilitate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons according to company standards
- communicate event details with clients and store team members
- complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
- adjust event plans based on client feedback and needs
- create backup or emergency plans for events
- ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events
