Job Requirements
- Must provide a minimum of 1-year full service restaurant experience or the equivalent
- Must have accurate mathematic skills
- Knowledge of menu and specials
- Familiarity with restaurant layout including table numbers and station numbers
- Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
- Must be warm, sincere, and outgoing in personality
- Ability to stand for long periods of time while on duty
- Capability to move safely throughout all areas of the restaurant
- Comfortable working amidst noise in confined crowded space
- Must be able to move chairs and transport high chairs and/or booster seats to tables when necessary
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Determine proper amount of reservations to be accepted for each shift according to standing operating procedure
- Take all reservation calls and record necessary information
- Confirm applicable reservations according to standing operating procedure
- Seat the restaurant evenly and in an orderly manner so that the dining room looks well filled and all servers have a fair share
- Maintain an accurate head count of guests seated in each station
- Fill out telephone message pads completely and pass on to appropriate person within 10 minutes
- Check washrooms and coordinate cleaning with bus staff
- Ensure host desk and waiting area are clean and organized
- Sell and account for gift certificate sales
- Move tables as needed for party size
- Interact pleasantly and humorously with guests
- Communicate effectively with guests
- Quote wait times accurately
- Assign tables efficiently
- Fill out and maintain host control sheet
- Anticipate needs of special parties
- Coordinate seating needs with service, bus, and other host staff
- Inform guests cordially about wait system and waiting area
