Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a renowned hospitality establishment that blends a Napa-style tasting room with wine-inspired retail alongside a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Founded in 2005, the company has positioned itself uniquely in the industry by offering a modern yet casual dining experience that focuses on pairing each scratch-kitchen menu item with its award-winning wines. With one of the largest wine clubs in the world, Cooper's Hawk not only delivers top-notch wines but also exclusive membership benefits that include curated dining and travel experiences. Expanding its culinary footprint, Cooper's Hawk also introduced Piccolo Buco, a concept inspired by the vibrant flavors of Rome, creating a dynamic lifestyle brand that goes beyond food and wine to include rich experiences for guests and members alike.
The Host position at Cooper's Hawk is key to upholding the brand's reputation for uncompromising hospitality. Hosts play a critical role as the first and last point of contact, setting the tone for guests' dining experiences. From warm greetings to smooth management of table flow and engaging conversations, the Host ensures that every guest feels taken care of personally from the moment they enter the establishment. This role demands energy, enthusiasm, excellent multitasking skills, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Hosts at Cooper's Hawk work in a fast-paced environment where coordination with the team is essential to keep service running seamlessly.
Compensation for the Host position ranges from $15.00 to $18.00 per hour, with pay determined by skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include significant discounts on dining, carryout, retail wine, and private events. Employees also enjoy monthly wine tastings, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and telehealth coverage, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off with flexible scheduling, early pay access, wellness and mental health support, wine and culinary education, and a structured career growth flight plan. The company encourages a team spirit, clear communication, and a willingness to pitch in, emphasizing service excellence and personal touches that create memorable moments for guests.
As part of the Cooper's Hawk team, hosts are expected to show up ready for every shift—coming prepared, staying sharp, and starting strong. Responsibilities include greeting guests enthusiastically, answering phones professionally, following checklists to prepare the host area, maintaining a professional appearance, managing seating flow and special requests, supporting other team members, sharing wine and food knowledge authentically, and maintaining the entry environment. The company seeks individuals who are at least 18 years old, capable of lifting 40 pounds and standing for extended periods, comfortable working weekends and holidays, and who possess a genuine love for hospitality. Cooper's Hawk values diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations throughout the employment process and considering all qualified applicants without regard to any protected characteristics.
