Job Description

Atlas Restaurant Group is a dynamic and rapidly growing hospitality company based in Baltimore, renowned for its commitment to excellent service, high standards, and fostering a positive community presence. The group manages a variety of eating and dining establishments, ranging from casual venues to fine dining restaurants. Recognized for the quality of its guest experiences and employee development programs, Atlas Restaurant Group offers a robust platform for hospitality professionals seeking growth and advancement within the industry.

This role as a Host within Atlas Restaurant Group is a vital entry point into the hospitality sector, offering the opportunity to engage directly with guests and be an integral part of a restaurant’s operations. The Host acts as the face of the establishment, greeting guests warmly, managing waitlists, ensuring seating rotation balance, and maintaining a clean and welcoming front of house environment. This position requires interaction with guests from the moment they arrive until their departure, including creating reservations and informing about wait times, which sets the tone for the guests' dining experience.

Working as a Host at Atlas Restaurant Group means you are expected to uphold the restaurant's dress code and cleanliness standards, maintain organized host stands, and ensure menus are presentable and ready for service. Essential duties also include informing managers and servers about guests celebrating special occasions to help create memorable visits. This role requires a keen eye to monitor and frequently clean shared spaces and conduct periodic bathroom checks to maintain overall cleanliness.

Candidates for this role will possess excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a strong capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced and often busy restaurant environment. A polite, attentive, and engaging demeanor is crucial to providing superior customer service and supporting the smooth flow and pace of dining service. Flexibility with work schedules is important, as shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Depending on location, a food handler's certification might be required.

Computer proficiency is also necessary as the host will use systems including Toast Point-of-Sale (POS), Restaurant365, and OpenTable to manage reservations and guest information. Basic English proficiency is highly preferred for clear communication, along with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Emotional intelligence and effective interpersonal skills, such as teamwork, personal accountability, and giving and receiving feedback appropriately, are essential traits for success in this role. The position also demands physical stamina, including standing for extended periods, lifting weights up to 50 pounds, and quick responsiveness to emergency situations.

Atlas Restaurant Group recognizes that employees are central to its success and offers comprehensive benefits to full-time employees working 30 or more hours per week, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401K contributions, fully company-paid life and AD&D insurance, pet insurance, learning and development opportunities, mobility and advancement prospects, and discounts at Atlas properties. Part-time employees are also eligible for many benefits such as 401K contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning programs, advancement opportunities, and employee discounts.

By joining Atlas Restaurant Group, employees embark on more than just a job—they join a community-focused, highly supportive company that values individual growth and provides opportunities to interact directly with senior management. This environment cultivates both personal and professional development, helping individuals establish and advance their hospitality careers in a thriving market. Salary ranges depend on location, from $13.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting competitive compensation within the industry.
